Baklava with Wafer Biscuit

Ingredients:

  • Thin baklava phyllo dough…500 gr
  • Crushed wafer biscuits…300 gr
  • Margarine or Butter…250 gr
  • Sugar…200 gr
  • Water…3 dl
  • Sweet cream…3 dl

Syrup Ingredients:

  • Sugar…300 gr
  • Water…5 dl

Preparation:

Pour water, sugar and margarine into a deeper dish. Put it on the stove and let the ingredients melt. Stir occasionally. When margarine and sugar are combined, remove from heat and add crushed wafer biscuits. Mix well until the mixture becomes smooth.

Cut the baklava phyllo dough along and crosswise so that you get four squares. From the prepared phyllo dough, take one sheet and put on each a little more than half a spoonful of wafer biscuit filling.

When we have coated one end of the phyllo dough, roll it up with the coating, squeeze it a little and pull out the handle of the rolling pin. We will get a smaller rolled roll which we arrange in a dish greased with oil. Repeat the process until all ingredients are used up and the entire dish is filled. Pour sweet cream evenly over everything and bake in a preheated oven. Bake at 200 degrees for about 30 minutes while occasionally adjusting the temperature if necessary. Now the finished baklava is poured with the previously prepared syrup. Leave to cool and serve. Enjoy!

Preparation-Syrup: Pour water into a deeper dish and add the necessary amount of sugar. Put it on the stove and boil until the sugar melts. Remove from heat and use a ladle to evenly pour the syrup over the baklava until all the syrup is used up.
